Friends of 42 Traverse Inc

A new incorporated society has been formed with an aim to work with DOC in keeping the 42nd Traverse open and accessible to all vehicles, ‘The Friends of 42 Traverse’.

Anyone with an interest in the 42nd Traverse can join the society and membership information is on the society website.

The aim of Friends of 42 Traverse Inc. is to work with the Department of Conservation to help maintain the 42 Traverse to ensure its sustainability as a venue for vehicle based recreation into the future.

Friends of 42 Traverse is an incorporated society and membership from those with an interest in keeping the 42 Traverse as a sustainable route for vehicles and other users, is welcome. We hope to engage with a wide variety of users and user groups to encourage a philosophy of working together to keep this unique route available for receations.

Yes, there were about 8 people on the on-line AGM. it was run over “zoom” took 40 mins.

Interesting parallel here with what we have just been discussing. I’m sure the 42nd traverse is going to be on the Trans New Zealand Back Country Discovery Route Trail so Id be keen to chip in $10 if that’s whats needed. Their rules made interesting reading, three person committee or more but only if they want.

How many people at the AGM Joao??

I’m a member of the Friends of 42 Traverse and yesterday, we had the first AGM, and there are some concerns about the handover from DOC to the local IWI, I think they need help, it is only 10 bucks but helps with the lobbying to keep the track open and reasonable clean.
