Raglan has just adopted these speed changes through a local bylaw change at council level.
Raglan urban speed limits will be reduced from Monday from 50kmh to 40kmh, and the new 30kmh limit for the CBD will also be brought in.
Contractors will be going round Raglan changing the speed limit signs.
Making the streets safer for pedestrians and cyclists is the main driver behind this speed limit reduction.
This follows the adoption of the amendments to Speed Limit Bylaw by Council earlier this year.
A number of other councils have also implemented or had public consultation on speed changes in 2020.
Marlborough District Council are in progress by the looks of things.
