Hi Hadrian,
I am planning some easy cruising for tomorrow, but your place is a 200km round trip just to get there and back for me ๐
In my magic crystal ball I can see a weekend Waikato ride for February (maybe Jan).
I hope we can catch up then.

Ton(nell)s of Fun Waikato/Naki Gravel Adventure Ride
Saturday, Feb 24, 2018, 8:00 AM
Location details are available to members only.
4 Riders Went
Join me on a Gravel/Tar/Tunnel adventure. Sat traveling the West Coast from AKL to Awakino. Then spend Sun scouting some of the Naki’s gems, to relax at the one and only Whangamomona Hotel. Then head off on Mon AKL bound. Sat: Following a GRAVEL path where we can down the west coast. Stay Awakino/Mokau 403Km Akl-Kawhia https://goo.gl/maps/f5AWNepkW…
I don’t have much knowledge of the Naki other than SH43 itself, so the maps aren’t set in stone, and happy to be a sponge for any info you have or if the route could be improved ๐ Second Day is Okau Tunnel, Kiwi Road (Tunnel), Moki Road (tunnel), Uruti Road Tunnel, Otaraoa Road Tunnel, Mangaopa Road Tunnel
Being eyeing a few paper roads in the area if i have time/gas. Anyone have knowledge of the Jury Road (101B Jury Rd, Te Wera 4392) and Mt Damper road (Mount Damper Rd, Tangarakau 4397) paper roads? I have confirmed both are public access via WAMS although that’s about all the info i can find.
February 8, 2018 at 10:01 pm #24865Sounds like you have the best bits covered. Road from Marokopa to Awakino not to be missed. If you plan to head into tunnel central from the Ohura end and across the Waitaanga Roads, then consider Waitewhena Road from Aria to Ohura, very nice bit of gravel. All the Taranaki stuff is very good.
Don’t know anything about the paper roads
Hope the weather is good for you.
February 11, 2018 at 10:07 pm #24899Got out to Muriwai with a couple of others today. Ended up doing the beach access to Wilson Road. After all the rain lately its nicely packed and was good fun.

Hadnโt given it much thought, just feeling out interest at this stage. It is going to be a full day so earlier the better โ before the heat / dust gets up.What is the T2B trail? Is there a ride already going?
