This 1.6km paper road that runs between 503 Moir Hill Road and 900 Ahuroa Road is essentially an unpopular unmaintained walking track that can be ridden South downhill quite easily or the reverse.
The latter, which is uphill, can be quite challenging as OldBeer, Papabendi and myself experienced last Saturday.
Most of this narrow track is riding through bush where even after several days of fine weather the track can be (and was) slippery in parts .
Some of it is also bumpy and off camber as the picture of the Suzi lying in the blackberry clearly demonstrates.
Suffice to say, we could have walked the track in half the time it took us to ride it (approx 1 hour) but it would not have been anywhere near as much fun.
We never encountered any walkers but to be on the safe side it would be better to ride this carefully rather than at enduro pace.
This track is more suitable for small to medium bikes with knobblies and riders with some dirt (clay) riding experience.
