I am thinking of getting an adventure bike, and came across Dirt Bike Magazine (US) 2016 adventure bike review. I looked up a handful of websites from NZ to get an idea of the RRP & took an exchange rate of $NZD 1 = $USD 0.70. The premium is the percent of the US price greater than accounted for by the exchange rate.

The BMW prices represent the upper spec models (from the text within the dirt bike magazine article), and think the specs of the NZ bikes are similar, but could have the exact specs/add-ons incorrect.

I thought others might be interested, potentially provide corrections and of course comments.

interesting the premium over US RRP is less than 15% GST for most models, except for BMW, which obviously feels NZ consumers will pay quite a premium when compared to other brands – with the exception of the top of the line R1200GS Adventure.

Some of those are a lot closer in price than I expected. Shipping to NZ is probably more expensive per bike due to volumes, potentially distance, and less ships coming to NZ than other places.
