Fark that was a biggy. Our doors were swinging on their hinges in Hamilton.

Be 20 years since I felt a quake like that. We are off to invergiggle on Saturday to the burt Monroe would be good to know if anyone is going down earlier any information like if the ferry services are working what roads are open etc. Cheers

Yea its pretty bad aye was planning on going through the molesworth to Hamner hopefully things arnt to bad there

    Joost Stenfert Kroese

Lots of roads around that end of the SI will be closed. I doubt the molesworth will be open. Best option via West Coast I guess. Hanmer bridge is closed so you can’t get out. Best stay at home this year.

Nothing down here in Cromwell. Surprised to read it was felt all the way up in Hamilton. Did not think much of the news but over the course of the day learned it was a pretty serious one. People blowing up my phone during the night because of course shaky New Zealand in the news again. Would be nuts to see a road split up right in front of you while riding. Looks like people heading down for Burt Munro next week might have to change the route a bit.

If you do take some pics of any damage you see on the way through.

    Martin Blackburn

Yea for sure will take some video aswell. If the ferry is sailing will try & make an effort to get down there

    Peter Claydon

going by the arial shoots it looks like theres a whole new coast line just before you go in land to the clarance river bridge…. the sea bottom has risen up…

    Edward Brodie
