Looking at Google Maps it appears that there are roads right through the Hunua Ranges, does anyone know if these are publically accessible?

Will be able tell within a week.
Supposedly, the ARA/Waterline/Keeney Rds up to Ness Valley are gated off at both the northern and southern ends. We’re going to have a look in any case, though.

    Just found this:
    http://regionalparks.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/hunuaranges
Download the Park Map pdf and it shows ” no vehicle access” to the sole north-south connector, Waterline Rd.

Looks like that idea is knocked on the head then. 🙁
Still…we’ll be at the southern end/ Workman Rd. coming Monday morning 27/10 about 10.30 am.
I’m not sure if you wanna die of boredom hanging around a couple of fully-loaded-for-a-fortnight Postie CT110s though 🙂

    Cheers
