We recently bought Jennifer a Ducati Monster 600. There were plenty of 400’s for sale out there but the 600’s are few and far between so we bought one sight unseen de-reg’d and knowing it needed some work.
Over the weekend we replaced the chain and sprockets which had been fitted incorrectly and were well past their expiry date.
The front sprocket has an offset on one side which had been fitted facing outwards, this meant there was not a straight line between front and rear sprockets and so the rear sprocket had severe wear on the outside edge and the inside edge was untouched, and correspondingly the front sprocket had severe wear on the inside edge with the outside edge bring untouched.
This is the rear sprocket we removed, 2 teeth missing and the rest very thin.

Please post a photo of the Ducati Monster 600.

May 20, 2018 at 5:43 pm #26777I’m sure the red ones are faster 🙂
I took the little monster out for a ride today. it’s a nice machine and gets along quite happily.
A better pic.
