In the same interview as KTM CEO Stefan Pierer recently hinted that Ducati would be a good fit to add to the KTM stable with German magazine Speedweek, he also dropped a hint that KTM would be releasing a range of 500cc twin cylinder models built in India as part of their partnership with Indian motorcycle manufacturer Bajaj.
Given that KTM’s current range is very much weighted towards adventure and off road models, surely a 500cc Adventure Twin would be included.
Stefan Pierer is quoted as saying:
In this segment we will come to other models, an SMT and so on. In the 500 cc class, we will bring a two-cylinder machine, which is manufactured by our partner Bajaj in India and with which we compete against the Japanese. Growth is happening in the emerging markets today, and in these emerging markets ‘premium’ is the mid-range of 500 to 800 cc.
