Anybody done this. It is on my bucket list but with my limited skills and the remoteness of it I’d like to do it with company.

We only had to go in as far as the lookout in the piccys below but people went in on Goldwings and scooters…One Ducati went off track a bit in a rutted bit. Road was ok although a little rough and steep in places. Any Adv bike should be able to get in as far as we went. Fantastic views at the lookout.
September 18, 2019 at 11:09 pm #31496So how far in was that. Guess it wasn’t in right to the camp site at the lake edge?
September 19, 2019 at 4:13 am #31516And do you have a GPS track for it?
September 19, 2019 at 8:16 am #31541Possibly…not sure how far in we went either. Will have to have a dig around and see what I can find…
September 19, 2019 at 3:08 pm #31543would make a great adventure. Bike to Queenstown, bikes over with the Earnsleugh, then over Walter peak station to Mavoura lakes and down to Manapouri South arm. January 2020 any takers??
September 23, 2019 at 8:15 am #31561Way way back you could still ride the old access road where the power lines go into the damn. It was a brilliant adventure track. I’m guessing that is no-more?
September 23, 2019 at 8:40 pm #31565i have been to the lake edge and only about another 20km or so from the lookout , road is similar all the way through, done it on a wr250r, even in the snow
