I’m keen to re-cushion my DR seat – even though I’m a lard-arse the long rides are no fun at all.
Can anyone recommend the best material for this and where I can get it?
Thanks people – great site and forums!
Cheers
Hi there sw motech make a air pad and they are very good if you are on the seat for a long time
Thanks but I want to have a go at re-covering the seat myself and want to get hold of the most comfy padding I can. Maybe two layers but I don’t know what I need… Cheers JE
I rebuilt my drz 400 and vstrom seats using foam from para rubber. You can get offcuts and small pieces which you glue together and stick on the existing foam.
I hot material to recover from an emporium shop. Cheap as. You need to make a paper pattern then sew it up and staple it on. If you’re worried about resale leave the existing seat cover in place and put foam over the top.
Ive got pictures of what i did if you’re interested. Won’t he able to buy the stuff now for 4 weeks…
