Check out this new site for Kiwi women who ride
Sloane is a lifestyle brand for women. Real women. Women who don’t feel the need to conform to conventions of the past. Who are free. Who do whatever they want.
It’s wild, whimsical and unrestricted.
Sloane is about motorcycling. But more than that. It’s the embodiment of a feeling that riding brings. It’s not just about motorcycling. It’s about being in charge, being free, having fun, being happy, being indulgent, being part of something.
It’s about taking your life in your own hands and owning whatever happens.
Sloane is a magazine. A website. A community. For women.
SLOANE: Irish Gaelic = ‘warrior’ or ‘expedition’; Celtic = ‘fighter’
We’ve got big ideas for Sloane – some may say slightly crazy ideas. Our readers/viewers/members will be invited to join the journey as we create a universal movement.
The first part of that journey will be the release of Sloane, the print magazine scheduled for release in the NZ/Australian Summer 2015/2016 and quarterly thereafter.
We’ll be blogging updates and asking for all kinds of input and contributions from women riders the world over.
Through our blog right here and of course, on social media (Facebook/Instagram/Twitter), we’ll keep you updated on progress and ‘take’ you with us on photo shoots and story assignments so you’ll know exactly what to expect when the print mag comes out!
Of course, because we’re based right here in New Zealand, there will be a certain bias towards Kiwi women and their bikes…and of course our sisters across the ditch.
But ultimately Sloane will encapsulate the global women’s motorcycle movement. It’s a movement that is growing fast as greater numbers of women discover the joy of owning and riding their own motorcycle.
Our goal is to foster that movement – to bring it even closer so that women riders of all ages and nationalities can enjoy a sisterhood of encouragement and support. And through this process we aim to develop safer riding practices through shared knowledge and expertise.
Whether you’re a woman who has always dreamed about riding her own bike but never had the courage to twist that throttle on her own for the first time; a learner who has just recently embarked on what can be scary and frustrating first time lessons; or the more intermediate and advanced rider who has the confidence to help other women join the journey – SLOANE will resonate with you all!
Sloane will be your friend – here to inspire, inform, and entertain.
But we can’t do it without your input!
Will you join us?
