Few manufacturers with such a large cult following have endured more rough riding then Buell-EBR over the last 5 or 6 years. There appears to be a silver lining/happy ending as EBR has once again opened up and begun producing 2016 versions of the EBR RX and SX 1190 (full fairing and naked respectively) in their East Troy factory. Also new this year is the pricing…12999RRP. Hopefully there is enough backing financially to keep the brand and the innovation rolling onwards.

Personally I think they need to roll out the elusive AX, which was meant to be the improved version of the Buell XB12X Ulysses Adventure/Touring bike. There were plenty of people waiting impatiently to see that amazing 1190 motor with a sculpted chassis and suspension kit created for adventure touring back when EBR had their first start. It was hinted at, once the RX and SX were revealed, and even had a release date at IDAExpo until Hero Honda Motorcycles made a slimy retreat from their financial obligations to force EBR into receivership. So once again with less-than-baited breath (we’d be well suffocated by now), the BUELLIVERS are raising their eyebrows and their hopes on an Adventure Touring EBR AX for 2017.

    EBR Motorcycles Announces Racing Partnership

Press Release: EBR Motorcycles has partnered with Splitlath Racing for the 2016 Superbike racing season.

“It has been an amazing few months since the new EBR Motorcycles was launched, and we have been focused on the process of getting our great new EBR street motorcycles into production,” said Erik Buell, Chief Technical Officer of EBR Motorcycles. “The demand for new motorcycles is really fantastic, and for certain we will stay focused on this by growing our dealer base. But we do love racing and we are happy to announce that EBR will be joining forces with Splitlath Racing, and featuring them as our factory team for 2016. It’s not about big budgets, but the passion and joy of racing and the fierce independence of the riders, crews and owners of such teams. ”

Splitlath will be racing at select international venues that will represent EBR Motorcycles well, and will showcase the adventure and excitement of racing the EBR 1190 around the globe.

John Dimbylow, team principal of Splitlath Racing touched on the plan for 2016:
