    The Great Australia Ride is an organised event raising morning for Sids and Kids, Queensland Australia’s ‘Sudden Infant Death’ charity.

    SIDS and Kids Queensland’s mission is to provide Queensland families with bereavement support and services for pregnancy, neonatal, accidental or sudden loss up to six years of age and make a difference in prevention and reduction rates of loss via education, awareness and advocacy.

    The ride starts in Byron Bay on the Eastern side of Australia over to the Western most point of Steep Point.

    The ride offers a number of sponsoship and participation levels.

    Wanna be part of this Epic Trans-crossing Adventure??

    Option 1 – Send Off Rider. A $35 Rider donation to SIDS and Kids

    Send off rider ticket allows the rider to ride with the other Adventure Riders, starting at Byron Bay – The Pass Carpark and finishing at Tenterfield. Donation can be made on the morning of the event, 8th August 2015. Distance from Byron to Tenterfield is 200kms – via road.

    Option 2 – 1st Night Camp. A $50 Rider donation to SIDS and Kids

    1st Night Camp/Hotel at Texas, Qld Ticket allows the rider to ride with the other Adventure

    Riders, starting at Byron Bay – The Pass Carpark and finishing at Texas to enjoy evening meal, drinks and night camp. Distance from Tenterfield to Texas 135km – via road.

    (Rider to cover costs of evening meal, drinks and camp/hotel in Texas)

    Option 3 – Feeling Daring! Why not join the 2nd Night Camp. A $75 Riders donation to SIDS and Kids.

    2nd Night Camp/Hotel at Bollon, Qld. Group to leave Texas in morning, lunch at the famous

    Nindigully Pub (try the mighty Roadtrain Buger!) then onto Bollon. (Rider to cover cost of lunch, drink, evening meal and camp/hotel.

    Distance from Texas to Bollon is 431kms – via road.

    Distance from Byron Bay to Bollon is 767kms – via road.

    Option 4 – Choose a Stage and jump on board! There stages are designed for riders who live in other parts of Australia who maybe short on time and looking for a 4, 5 or 6 day ride with GAR.
    Stage 1 – Byron to Birdsville – 8th August – 13th August – 6 day
    Stage 2 – Birdsville to Alice Springs – 14th August – 17th August – 4 day 2 Rest Days in Alice Springs
    Stage 3 – Alice Springs to Laverton – 20th August – 24th August – 5 day
    Stage 4 – Laverton to Steep Point – 24th August – 28th August – 5 day

    The ultimate Outback experience, allows riders to go the entire east to west crossing.
