I’m running 15/43 and it’s noticably more vibey than the stock 15/41 but it’s not too bad.

I have 14t and 13t cs sprockets arriving next week and also a 43t rear sprocket. Will let you know how it goes once I try them out.

When i got my bike it had 15/43 gearing, I’ve since purchased a 14T front which makes it nicer on gravel and tracks. Seems to be approx 200 RPM between the front teeth. I do a lot of Road riding so run with the 15 most of the time, not sure of any economy difference.

I have a 14 tooth front here and have been tempted to put it on. My bike will lift the front wheel slightly under acceleration in first, it would be even more fun with the smaller front sprocket.

Im running 14/42, mostly shingle riding, gives much better response and lifts the wheel nicely in second at 50k. Increased the revs from 4200 to 4600 at 100k so still cruises at 110k happily, mind due it is running a 130/90 rear tyre.

I just changed my stock 15/41 and put a 14T on the front. After doing a 300km seal + 300km gravel ride, including steep Porika track I’m very happy with the 14/41 combo on it now. Handled the steep gravel track no problem and still had good speed and fuel economy on the bitumen.

I’m running 16/41. Sits nicely on 115 (still in 4th at 100). Only problem is hitting neutral occasionally in the tight stuff, as 1st and 2nd is getting more use.

Fuel economy is brilliant. I’m now getting 340km to reserve (IMS tank). I never got above 300 with lower gearing.

I was running 15/43 but when I replaced everything recently I went back to the stock 15/41, with the FCR39 carb and other mods my bike pulls stock gearing better than a standard bike with much lower gearing. I haven’t run enough gas through it yet to see what mileage difference it’s made.

You’re right. Mine has had a few mods. I doubt it would pull such tall gearing in standard form.
