    Canaan Road is near the top of the Takaka Hill off SH30, the Takaka Hill Highway. The 11km gravel road leads to a carpark/DOC campsite from where a 45 minute walk through bush leads to Harwood’s Hole, for many years NZ’s deepest explored cave and the deepest vertical shaft in NZ.

    Awesome diversion off the Takaka Hill road for a gravel fix. Fun playground in all the sinkholes out at Cannan Downs too.

    Good vid the camera gives an illusion that the front guard is loose . Coming down that way early January be great to catch up an have someone show me around their patch if you are interested

    It does look like the front guard is loose but I checked it after taking a similar video another time & it’s actually attached nice & tight. Suspect it might be the camera vibrating that makes it look like it’s wobbling, or else it naturally flexes. Thanks for pointing it out though!
