Canaan Road is near the top of the Takaka Hill off SH30, the Takaka Hill Highway. The 11km gravel road leads to a carpark/DOC campsite from where a 45 minute walk through bush leads to Harwood’s Hole, for many years NZ’s deepest explored cave and the deepest vertical shaft in NZ.
