The road does what it’s name says. It has great views across Ruataniwha Plains in Central Hawkes Bay and up to the Ruahine Range. It is 2-track gravel road with seal sections at each end.
BlackBurn, Hinuera, and Lookout Roads form a nice loop off SH50, there are a couple options at north end to return to SH50, or explore further into the Ruahine Ranges.
