If you haven’t heard of CCM they are a small English manufacturer that have been around since 1971, taking other companies engines and wrapping them in CCM’s own frames and running gear. CCM started with BSA making motorcross machines, and have used Suzuki DRZ-400, Rotax, and BMW engines.
CCM have a history with adventure styled machines having manufactured the Rotax powered Armstrong MT500 motorcycles under license for the Britsh Army in the 1980’s.

In 2013 CCM were possibly the first manufacture to get in on the 450cc adventure segment with their CCM GP450 Adventure featuring their own in-house designed 450cc single. Unfortunately the GP450 was discontinued in 2017 due to tightening emission regulations.

The new adventure machine is called the project X and is due to be unveiled on November 16 at 11am UK time. So far there’s no pictures and all we do know is it will have 21″ front and 18″ rear wheels and have a TIG-welded chromoly steel frame. CCM have said Project X will be comfortable in both its rider and pillion accomodation and gearing for 2-up touring and motorway cruising and will have luggage options. Knowing CCM we would expect the Project X to weigh in at the lighter end of the 450cc class.
