A good choice of route between Eketahuna and Masterton, Daggs and Wairiri Roads make up 15km of twisty gravel with some good views. The roads were bordering on slippery in April 2021 (after rain the day before) as large sections had very little loose gravel surface left.

From Masterton the Te Ore Ore Bideford Road takes you straight to Wairiri Roads Southern End, at the Northern End Mangaoranga Road, takes you out of Eketahuna and over to Route 52 a few hundred metres from the top end of Daggs Road.
