Yet more South Waikato goodness. this road starts as Huia Road from Ohura at the North End and at the South End it starts as Roto Road off SH43, The Forgotten Highway. It is the same road all the way through but in the middle it changes from Huia Road to Roto Road, there is a signpost to mark the change but no junction or anything at that point, but the road changes almost instantly.
Heading South Huia Road is fairly flat with lots of open sections but as soon as you pass the signpost changing the name to Roto Road the road tightens up, starts climbing, and gets a strip of grass down the center. Both sections of road had a good firm surface with only a light layer of gravel when travelled.
Huia – Roto road ties in well with Waitewhena Road at the Ohura end.
