A nice gravel detour off SH2 between Napier and Wairoa. A 3-track gravel road through hill country farms and plantation forestry.
At Mohaka township end of Mohaka Coach Road there is access to the mouth of the Mohaka river and beach. There are some nice views south to Napier on those sunny Hawkes Bay days and you get to cross the last of the 7 bridges across the Mohaka.
