Entrance to Napoleon Hill is by crossing a farm and a fee of $10 per vehicle for access over private land is payable at the farm house. Contact details are in the last picture below.
Heading in from the South End the farm house is a short distance in on the left hand side. Once you leave the farm house the Napoleon Hill section is a rough dirt track with a few small river crossings and then a steep decent down into Nobles Creek. Nobles Creek is a small rocky creek with a few sandy patches and steep sides that end up being vertical. This is the most spectacular part of the ride and is lots of fun winding your way down the creek bed. The creek goes through a couple of caves with the largest at the very end. It’s a totally unique experience.
At the North end of Nobles creek at the end of the marked GPS track you can exit Nobles Creek and follow Waipuna Road back to SH7 or carry you can on down Waipuna Creek back to SH7 over about 3km of rivers crossings and rocky river bed.
WARNING Do not attempt Waipuna River if the river is in flood.

There is a more ‘adventurous’ way to get in that does not incur an access fee.
And the access fee is a contentious issue for the locals as well as it’s a paper road or some such.Read more on AdventureRidingNZ.co.nz

This is an awesome track. Long may it be open and acessable to us all. We went in to napoleons hill and meet the farm owner, Robyn and Malcolm Smith. We paid the money for access and paid for morning tea and a mini tour of their farm and surrounding area. Most of our group, were more than happy with what we got. Our group comprised more family group rather than hard core off roaders, it definitely suited us. It was a great way to meet the local people. Didnt feel like they were in it to make big dollars, and rip us off. I guess if you had free access in the past then having to pay might be annoying .
Any way This was us over the holidays. .. https://lroca2016mainland.wordpress.com/2016/12/29/day-4-napoleon-hill/
