Between Geraldine and Lake Opuha is a 57km loop of nice track running over Orari Gorge and Blue Mountain Stations.
Orari Gorge track varies from tarseal, to gravel, to good farm roads, to paddocks, and rough farm tracks, with some easy creek crossings thrown in.
Both Orari Gorge Station and Blue Mountain Station require you to obtain prior permission before riding Orari Gorge and charge a $10 access fee each.

Blue mountain station now charge $30 but it’s $30 well spent. If you use the bridge at the Geraldine end rather than loop up the river you are on a public road all the way to to the Blue Mountain boundary
