Otorohaea Trig Road provides a shortcut for getting between SH22 and Ngaruawahia offering a far shorter option between the two, along with quicker access to the Te Akau Coast – Raglan to Port Waikato route.

Otorohaea Trig Road is well groomed and 3 wheel tracks wide with a solid base, though there are some corrugations on steeper corners. There are some windy downhill sections in both directions but due to the solid base there is plenty of grip for controlled braking in those sections.

A quarry is located at the East end of Otorohaea Trig Road so you may encounter large trucks as well as the usual local farm traffic.
