Rocky River Road is only 5 minutes out of Motueka and leads into a series of forestry tracks.
The track brings you to a T junction where the track usage takes you to the right and up to a lookout and logging skid site which like many other tracks in this area offers great views over the surrounding countryside as the photo’s below show. Beyond the lookout the hills are riddled with forestry trails but we have no information as to whether access is legal further into this area so we cannot recommend continuing past the lookout.
Left at the T junction takes you to the Mount Campbell access road however the track is gated a couple of km up the access road, before the gate the track deteriorates significantly.
It is usually possible to make a loop through to Shaggery Road also but as at May 2015 this was closed due to logging.
