We’ve been advised that Worsleys Track is now closed to all Motor Vehicles.
Worsleys Track starts as Worsleys Road directly out of the suburb of Cashmere in Christchurch. There is a gate near the beginning of the track that should be closed once you go through it.
Worsleys Track is a steep rutted climb up a paper road with deep ruts and mud throughout the track, some of the ruts can be waist deep or more depending on recent weather. Ensure all vehicles stick to the formed track in this area, do not go off into the trees or form new tracks as continued access is dependant on the surrounding area not being destroyed.
We’d recommend that this is a track for small bikes only, unless you are happy with the likelihood of damage to your bike

There are quite a few local people pushing for it’s permanent closure however so it may become permanent.
Defo closed for good, signs are up saying no vehicle access, but the track is now over-run by e-bike users screaming up and down, so that’ll teach the complaining walkers… 😉
