Not really a ride report and not really adventure riding but I was in Auckland recently and while wandering around the Newmarket backstreets found this really cool motorcycle themed cafe/bar etc. It’s worth a look if you are the area.
A lot of the bikes in their collection are rare/unusual.

I was back in Auckland over the weekend so popped back into York Street Mechanics, a few bikes had been changed around and some new bikes were on the floor.

I live 5 minutes walk from this place, next time you’re around with some time send me a message and we’ll go have a drink there.
The guy who runs & owns it is a top chap as well, I stumbled across it a month or two ago and got talking to him, he told me about lots of the bikes and what he was doing there etc, he’s also done a big trip (from Russia to the UK) so we had plenty to talk about. They also had some decent wine but not much beer when I was there, friendly staff etc. Looking forward to going back.
Has anyone been here recently? is it still open?
I tried finding them on Facebook last night and their FB page has disappeared, when I rang the number listed in the White Pages today I got an answering machine for a company called Designer NZ.
