It turns out this was a hoax and no such announcement has been made, for the time being we can rest easy that the best ADV bike ever is not dead yet.
It’s been reported that at the 2018 Japanese Motorcycle Show which started today in Osaka, Japan,that Suzuki Product And Marketing manager Giovanni Fortmoth announced 2019 will be the final model year for the Suzuki DR650 due to the growing requirement to pass emissions regulations in many markets.
We haven’t been able to find any official press release from Suzuki to back this up but if it’s true it’s not really surprising. Also if it’s true hopefully Suzuki have a brand new replacement ADV model in the works.
