Motorcycle.com are doing a big bike comparison and have just released Part 1 of their test on video.
The test is comparing the below bikes.
BMW R1200GS Adventure
Honda Africa Twin Adventure Sports
KTM 1290 Super Adventure R
Suzuki V-Strom 1000 XT
Triumph Tiger 1200 XCa
Yamaha Super Tenere ES
It’s not really surprising to see the BMW R1200 GSA coming out as the testers favourite for road riding. Saying that, it was good to see the Suzuki V-Strom 1000 XT getting an honourable mention. It will be interesting to see what bike they choose as best for off-road riding.
Incidentally, that is the third Africa Twin I’ve seen go down in a review video and smash it’s engine casing (expensive!). Maybe Honda should put crash bars that offer protection for the engine casings as a standard fitted component.
I was surprised at the amount of praise being heaped on the V-Strom over the other bikes too.
