The Back Road Riders present: Traversing the Turakina Valley
Please meet at the Z service station in Marton at 0915 for 0930 start. From Marton we will traverse the Turakina Valley as far as Colliers Junction where we will turn east to Mataroa then on to our lunch venue at the Soul Food Café in Taihape but via the Moawhango River Valley.
151km, 3 hrs travel time. Fuel at Marton and Taihape.
After lunch we will head back South via North Ridge Rd, Koeke Junction, Pohonui, back onto Turakina Valley Rd then onto the usual debrief at Hunterville.
81km, 2hrs travel time.
This route is one of my favorites with lots of excellent gravel on offer and maybe even a road or two that some of you may not have done before.
