Summers about over and the nights are getting colder. Come and camp out, sink some brews around a campfire and chill with some fellow adventure riders before the winter blues set in.
UPDATED: an executive decision has been made that we will be staying at the Mid Okahu Road Campsite East of Minginui.
The Mid Okahu Road Campsite is a basic DOC campsite with a long drop toilet and a river and that’s it, meaning all attendees need to be fully self sufficient and bring their own food and a means to cook it if required, plus tent and bedding etc.
Some firewood to contribute to a fire for the night would also be handy and anything that is bought in must be carried out, no trash is to be left behind.
Looking at Mid Okahu Road it looks like there are a few sidetracks and a small ford nearby to explore.
We did this last year at Boulders campsite South East of Opotiki and it was a good chance to meet new friends and get away from the stresses of life for a night.
