I went along to this for a gentle ride.
There was probably 40-50 bikes in total, most of which were cruisers or tourers. For a while I was the only adventure bike until a KLR turned up. IT was $20 donation for the ride, with badges an extra 10 each, and a few raffles that started at $1 a ticket for some fairly good prizes.
The ride left the school and did a damp loop out to Morrinsville then Matamata for a scheduled stop at Hobbiton where one of the raffles was drawn for a prize of various Hobbiton related gear.
While at Hobbiton the sun came out so the next section along Buckland Road and Karapiro Road was nicer, although for some reason we all had to stop at the Karapiro Service Station because one bike hadn’t filled up before the ride. From Karapiro it was up Whitehall and French Pass roads, through Cambridge and back up SH1 into Hamilton and back to the school.
This was on the back of a Goldwing

My co-pilot for the ride

All in all it was a good ride, though some of the cruiser riders pulled off some silly passing manuveurs, like underpassing a car on Wairere Drive.
