At the recent EICMA show Kawasaki announced the Ninja 7 Hybrid which has a 450 cc liquid-cooled parallel twin engine combined with an electric motor. Kawasaki indicates the Ninja 7 can run on it’s battery power alone but states “The Ninja 7 Hybrid’s EV Mode may be helpful for certain situations where quiet riding is appropriate, such as in residential areas or in parking garages. Speed and range are limited.” but go on to also say the Ninja 7 Hybrid is capable of “instant acceleration to rival that of a 1,000cc-class supersport model from a standing start.”
At the same event Royal Enfield showed off it’s electric Himalayan concept, named Him-E. There’s no details on its range and power capabilities yet.
Suzuki recently announced it is testing a hydrogen power plant in a modified version of it’s 400cc Burgman maxi scooter. Again there are no details of its capabilities yet.
