Tumbledown Bay Road runs off Port Underwood Road around 23km out of Picton and follows the shoreline around the inner side of 2 large bays.

Along the road is a memorial to Samuel Ironside, who brought christianity to local Maori and settlers of the region. Samuel Ironside witnessed the South Island signing of the Treaty Of Waitangi which was held on Horohora Kakahu Island further around the bay from where Tumbledown Road ends.
