Thought I’d post a couple of rigs I saw at Cemetery Circuit. The Triumph tub appears to be ply. The Suzuki is for sale, but has some accident damage.
Some random pics off the net of adventure sidecars.
A sidecar used as an ambulance in Africa
A KLE500 unit, this idea has a certain appeal to me for New Zealand backroads.

I love this setup
This is in extremely bad taste but kinda funny also.
This would be awesome for a big trip, RTW or cross USA/Australia or something
Having previously owned a 650 Ural outfit which I sold a few years back I find myself being drawn back towards the three wheeled fold.
Found this courtesy of Google today, just so sexy and so right.
And here is my Ural. Bought from Bill Biber who traded up to a 750 2WD model. Sold it to a guy from near Bleinheim who flew up with his young son, took it for a blat round the block, said OK and paid the dosh and headed south for the ferry. Made it OK too thank goodness.
Third pic is them heading off.
The trouble with chairs is that you need someone to play with otherwise I found I would rather on a solo. my wife was not that thrilled, my two girls hated it and I didn’t have a dog then either! Also being in Auckland with the damn traffic puts a dampner on things.
Agree that it’s helpful having others that have chairs nearby, but that didn’t stop me. You just need to add gravel to the mix & suddenly they make a lot of sense.
Good luck finding a spare Ural chair BTW.
Yes I like that Guzzi char too.
Completely agree about gravel and chairs perfect mix.
I don’t expect to find a Ural chair loafing and sadly I don’t have your mechanical aptitude so if I bought something it would need to be complete. Kurt at Red Triangle tells me a new Ural chair on its own is about NZ1010k now, gulp!
Really enjoyed reading your build threads BTW.
Price of tank was supposed to be NZ$10k above.
Another interesting outfit sent from a mate in the UK.
And one more for now which is not a gravel bike but to me looked like a really well thought out bit of kit. Spotted at Darley Moor race circuit, UK a few years back. Was also some great sidecar racing that day. The fastest bike was a Nourish engined beast which sounded great but points for entertainment factor went to a big wheeled Triumph number that slid sideways through every corner to the approval of the crowd. Happy Days.
I spotted this on Facebook and quite liked it. I think it’s a Honda Deauville.

This one is a bit different, and not just because of the rough paintjob and odd sidecar. See if you can spot why.
If you look closely the motor is actually a Ducati 750.
