Along with the CF Moto 450 and the Kove 450, Keeway have entered the 450 Rally game with a new offering unveiled at the 2023 EICMA show. In NZ Keeway are mostly associated with step through scooters and mopeds so this is a big departure from those offerings.
Powered by a 449cc single cylinder that produces 42 hp at 8000 rpm, and 38 Nm of torque the TX450R utilises a 6-speed gearbox. Wheels are 90/90/21 at the front and 140/70/18 at the rear with Nissan calipers but not much else is known at this stage, including whether the New Zealand distributor will being them here.

Looks generally OK, but don’t like those pink plastic tubes in front of the seat, nor the front brake line. Does it have ABS? Rear brake maybe, can’t see any evidence on front brake. There is a cap beside the seat, on right hand side, where the fuel filler on BMW F800GS is located. Is that the fuel filler on this bike? Genuine carbon fibre bash plate? How heavy?
It does have switchable ABS. According to https://www.facebook.com/keewayuk/ the frame is aluminium which is OK if well designed and built. With 280 mm suspension travel and 28 litres fuel it may be a seriously capable bike, weighing 142 kg dry. Adjustable forks – could be my next bike!
Could be the Unicorn I’ve been waiting for to replace my Tenere 700. 149kg verses my portly 220kg with accessories.
