At a presentation on Ducati’s 2020 models one picture has aroused lots of interest.
The Ducati Desert X is a concept possibly aimed at a 2021 launch and is based off the current 1100cc, 2 valve, 86HP, Scrambler platform, and at this stage that’s all that is known.
Inspiration for the style and colour scheme comes from the Ducati powered Cagiva Elefant which won the 1990 Paris-Dakar race piloted by Edi Orioli.

I love that Cagiva 🙂
In my opinion they should have left the seat straight on the new Desert X.
Another image has been released of the Ducati Desert X.
A real Ducati Desert X has been shown wearing 21″ front and 18″ rear wheels, with a 30 litre tank, and 275mm ground clearance, so a design aimed at real off-road performance.
At this stage the Desert X is just a concept, but it’s a very appealing concept.
