I found a Kozi Euro sidecar in someones garage that has been sitting for a few years and badly neglected.
I gave him a few dollars and bought a universal mounting kit and got it all together.
So, on the first ride the head shake was unbelievable at any speed and on right hand turns the nose of the chair nearly scraped the tar off the road.
So I think the coil over shock is buggered.
And the sidecar wheel may be buckled. The tire is definitely worn on one side, (as in too much toe-in).
So my question to those who know is…. will the buggered shock and badly worn tire cause sever head shake and nose dive.?
If so, how rigid should the shock be or can I solid mount the axle to the frame.? ( ie replace the shock with a solid bar )
Any ideas welcome.
Thanks in advance.
Whereabouts in NZ are you
Great Barrier Island.
Ah, so not really close to anyone.
How much wheel lead have you got?
230 mm from memory.
This site, and a few others i found, indicate that’s at the low end of the recommended amount.

I’ve never seen this method before now, lead based on the weight of the tug
