Embedding images in your forum post

Attaching images inline to your forum post carries a story better, and unfortunately the only plugin for attaching images with this forum software doesn’t do it very well by default.

I have added instructions just above the Image attachments buttons to make this easier, check it out and let me now if it could do with rewording or anything.

My image is going to be below this writing

I’ve updated the instructions for uploading and embedding an image in your post, if you want to you can test out attaching and embedding an yourself in this thread.

Maximum file size allowed is 500 KB.

To embed images in your post attach your picture below then copy and paste the following code into your post where you want the picture to appear, changing the YOUR_PICTURE_NAME part to the name of the picture you attached below.

If you are uploading images to the Adventure Riding NZ website the file size of each image has been restricted to 500kb per image. This is because compared to text images take up a huge amount of storage space. 1 image could equal 100 forum posts in storage size.

If your image is hosted somewhere else like Smugmug.com, Photobucket.com, or Tinypic.com press the IMG button and copy the link to your image in the box that pops up. Images that are hosted somewhere else can be of any size.

Also, if you do not want to have the “mini” image bellow the proper embedded image, just click the detach link, that will detach the image from your post, but not remove it from the uploads dir so it will deisplay correctly.
if you select delete then the image will be deleted and a broken link will be displayed on your post.
