HJC C70 Helmet Visor Base Plate

While at the 2024 BMW GS Rally my helmet fell of my bike seat and landed open visor first on the ground, which resulted in the visor base plate mechanism breaking on both sides of the helmet meaning the visor wouldn’t stay on.

I had to ride the event with no visor, fortunately the C70 has an internal tinted visor and one of the items in the rally gift bag was a head buff so between those I managed to not get too cold, though I did have wind burn on my checks at the end of the day.

Once home I started searching out replacement parts and found there’s no stock in New Zealand and the next shipment was due mid December.

I did however find listings for replacement parts for the ICON Airframe Pro, Airmada, and Airform helmets that looked exactly the same so I took the risk and ordered them.

The ICON replacement parts turned up and the do fit the HJC C70, everything lines up fine.  I ordered the Icon parts off Aliexpress and the 4 mounting screws included are actually better than the Factory HJC ones in that the are metal instead of plastic and require a hex head screwdriver not flat head.

New Aliexpress ICON part on the left, broken factory HJC part on the right.

While I was searching for the replacement parts I found quite a few forum posts asking if the ICON parts fit the HJC C70 so hopefully someone out there finds this helpful.
