King Country Adventure Ride 2020

Back in the good old days ( or bad old days ) I used to organize a ride called the king country adv ride which ran from 2009 to 2015. Mostly done through the now dead Kiwi Biker website.

Link to the 2012 ride that still has a few pictures…
https://www.kiwibiker.co.nz/forums/…venture-Ride-2012-(KCAR)/page4?highlight=kcar

Things changed and I got busy with other things and rider numbers dropped off so 2015 was the last ride.
These roads and tracks ( with the exception of Fishers Track ) are still as good as they were back then and I have continued to ride them sporadically over the years. But late last year I thought that maybe it might be time to string them all together again for another ride.

So here goes…

Sounds like a good weekend. Where are you starting from?

I’ve done a couple of Marks’ earlier King Country rides and they are a good weekend. I’ll be back in NZ by then but might not have the bike back on the road.

I’ll be there, likely on the slidecar, hopefully with Mrs Box.a.bits in tow (still negotiating on that one). That means day 2 (Fishers & the 42nd) will be modified to fit. I guess I can probably live with that….

We’ll do 2 nights at Taumaranui, as we are coming up from Wellington. Otorahanga is only an hr & a 1/4 up the road, & it’ll mean we don’t need to set up twice, or carry our gear for the first day. Also I like Taumaranui (it’s cheaper, lol).

Obviously this ride is postponed until a later date.
Most likely after winter, but we will have to see how long this nasty shite goes on 4.
