This bike is not really what you’d expect from a thumper. It idles at 1,600rpm, doesn’t really come alive till 5,000rpm and then it’s sweet to about 10,000. So it’s a bit like an old two stroke to ride. It’s got a cool digital dash with bar-graph tacho, clock etc etc. The suspension is shorter than a pure enduro so this 5’6″ hobbit can put both toes on the ground. Biggest negative is 7.4 litre tank but it seems like it should give around 120km from a tank. On Banks Peninsula it did 63km from Cashmere to Little River via Governors Bay, Diamond harbour and port Levy on 3.6 litres, so should have enough capacity for the Lees Valley for instance. It runs a 36mm Dellorto pumper instead of the EFI that full on Gas Gas enduros have. Lots of nice components (e.g. all hydraulic lines are steel braided) Not very refined but quick, light and compact. I like it.
