There’s 2 distinct camps in the adventure riding community. Which side do you fit on and why?
On one side there’s the Adventure touring riders who generally ride larger capacity and weight bikes of 650cc or greater that are designed to tour a continent. For the adventure tourers an adventure ride need only be a well packed gravel road.
On the other side there’s the racers who ride plated enduro weapons. The racers often need every a stop every 100km’s for gas. The bikes are usually small capacity and very lightweight and the knarlier the terrain the better.
