Hi everyone, A few weeks ago I made a post on Facebook about gathering feedback on a review on the licensing system for motorbikes. We found overwhelming support and lots of feedback we took into account.
We have made a petition on parliament website where signatures are open for support. The petition has been fact checked against the current legislation by government workers. This means all information is factual.
For those of you who didn’t see the post, a friend and I have the goal of changing the licensing system to take away the restricted license. We are doing this as the license conditions are the exact same as the learners but with the ability to take off your L plate. What we are suggesting is the removal of the restricted phase and the increase of the learners phase. This decreases the money spent, confusion surrounding the licenses whilst keeping the same riding experience before getting your full. The money saved can also be spent on riding gear to increase road safety.
