Offroad trails around Auckland
Hey guys,
Not sure if this is the right category for this.
Looking through the site trying to find gravel or dirt tracks around Auckland and I’m struggling to find any good recommendations of decent trails without looking at the map of unsealed roads which is hard to work out what is good.
Anybody have any suggestions for trips from Auckland to get as off the beaten path as possible?

Theres a ride through some of the better north auckland gravel roads on this Saturday. It starts from Waipu but thats only 1.5 hours away so you could ride up sat sat morning if you didnt want to stay there overnight. You would also neet a few local riders.

I’ve been to Muriwai a few times but looking to see what else is out there.
I’m based on the North shore but anything that can be done within half a day would be fine.

Theres plenty of good gravel roads north and south of Auckland. Uf you tell wgere you are (north/south) and how far you want to go we could make some recommendations.
Theres not a lot of actual off road. Muriwai beach and the entry and exit points seem popular. The Sand pit is also ok. For non sand off road rids best bet is to go on one of the trail rides advertised on silverbullet. A bit of googling will find it.
