  1. Reports are that a large slip has landed on Mangahao Road and left a blockage as big as a house with heaps of trees on top of the road just after the power station.

    Motorcyclist airlifted off Tararua Range

    A motorcyclist injured in a crash in the Tararua Range near Palmerston North was airlifted by helicopter to hospital on Saturday morning.

    A police spokeswoman said police were alerted about 10.20am to the crash in the vicinity of Mangahao Rd, up the hill from Shannon.

    The crash happened on a dirt road, where there was no access for a St John ambulance.

    The man had moderate injuries.

  3. Must go back up there on a better day. It was raining and foggy when I did it. Ended up with a punctured K60 rear too from bouncing off the rocks.
